Portugal is
a member sovereign country of the European Union, constituted like a
democratic state of right. Its territory, with capital in
Lisbon, is located in the southwest of Europe,
the Iberian Peninsula. It limits the east and the north with
Spain,
and the south and the west with the Atlantic Ocean. It also includes the
independent archipelagos of the Goshawks and Madeira, located in the
North hemisphere of the Atlantic Ocean. The Algarve, to the south of
Portugal, is par excellence the tourist point of Portuguese and
foreigners. The climate and the temperature of the water are the main
factors that contribute to the great tourist growth in this region. The
inauguration of the airport of Light in the decade of the 60 contributed
immensely to the flow of tourists of the different nationalities,
especially British, German and Scandinavians.
Lisbon and Oporto also attract many tourists,
being considered especially attractive cities by their nocturnal life |
